So here we are, at the end of Hawksby and Rooks first adventure. Here is the collected edition of book 5. And the whole story collected here.

Once again many thanks for the kind comments and hundreds of likes throughout this book, and the whole story. As indicated Rook, Hawksby and co. will be back at some point in the future.

I still have a few mopping up posts including a couple of long standing half finished book reviews. And at some point I will be posting more miniatures and battle reports. But for the next few months at least this blog will be resting.

My other miniature adventures are noted (infrequently admittedly!) here on this collaborative blog.

So all the is left is to say, Happy New Year for 2018, and “Trust in God and Keep your powder dry”

Richard Drake Jeb Marleyman

Richard Drake, left, and Jeb Marleyman
These pair were both workers on Hawksby’s estate. Having worked for the Hawksby’s for many years, these are both fiercely loyal to Their master. They are trusted by Lord Thomas and are often seen accompanying Rook on his more dangerous missions. Marleyman is a skilled trapper, and capable of living off the land. Richard Drake is often nicknamed pauper Drake because of his refusal to wear shoes. He was orphaned at an early age and brought up on the Hawksby estate by members of the household.

Both miniatures are from Warlord Games Pike and Shotte infantry sprue. Jeb’s head is from the Gripping Beast Dark ages Warriors set and his arms are Bolt Action plastic arms. Drake is a standard musketeer with his feet and ankles swapped with some from the Perry Miniatures Mahadists boxed set.
